I’ve been meaning to post these for a while.  Here’s some before and after pictures of Kadykchan.  It’s an abandoned Soviet mining city in the Russian Far East.  The pink building in the background is a government building and the greenish gray one was a school.  I think the pink/green building behind the government offices was apartments..it looks like there was a restaurant on the base of them?  I really want to know more about the picture with the kids.
